Welcome to the Meirionnydd Ramblers

Cadair Idris 1The Meirionnydd Ramblers are a friendly group of people who enjoy walking, enjoy the countryside and particularly enjoy the company of other people. You can always be sure of a warm welcome from us.

Our group is part of The Ramblers, Britain’s biggest walking charity. The Ramblers have worked for over 80 years throughout England, Scotland and Wales, to promote walking and ensure that we all have access to places to walk. Meirionnydd is one of nearly 500 local Ramblers groups, of which 40 or so are in Wales and make up Ramblers Cymru. Our group’s area covers more or less the old county of Meirionnydd - the mid and southern part of Gwynedd - although we do arrange walks outside this area, even occasional "away breaks".

As Ramblers, we are keen to promote walking for pleasure and for health. We also have a volunteer group which works with the local council to help maintain our local footpaths.

But of course, what we love most is simply to walk in the beautiful countryside of Mid and North Wales. We extend a special invitation to members of other Ramblers groups visiting the area to join us on our walks and to new walkers. Find out more on the Walk With Us page.
